Be Present and Calm : Realistic Mindfulness Tips

How often have you rushed out the door and into your day without even thinking about how you’d like things to go? Before you release  it, something or someone has made you feel uncomfortable, and you react automatically with frustration, impatience or outbursts. Until you're surprised to find yourself acting in a way you never intended

You don't have to get stuck in these patterns. You may have heard about the benefits of mindfulness. It's often hailed as a remedy for the stresses of modern life. Whether you're dealing with stress and anxiety or you're looking for ways to feel more connected and at peace, mindfulness teaches us how to be more present.

You don't have to do mindfulness like healing on a private island or eating at a private fancy restaurant. You can improve your pattern routine and gain peace by taking and appreciating small steps!

Mindful Pause: Rewire Your Brain

It is estimated that 95% of our behavior runs on autopilot-something refer to as “fast brain”. Mindfulness is the opposite of this process; it is the slow brain. Mindfulness is executive control, not autopilot, and allows for deliberate action, willpower, and decisions.

Practicing mindfulness helps us sort the routines we can do, like looking at a recording of our life but in more detail. It allows us to pull, replace, subtract, add aspects of habits to update our patterns so that there are new points in each of our routines.

This new point stimulates our behavior to do different things, thus indirectly getting us out of our usual boredom and giving a fresh touch to our habits.

Keep A Journal

Keeping a journal allows us to reflect and be grateful for the personal growth that never stops. we can look back at previous journal entries, and be surprised at how much improvement we have made in my life because of one simple observation.

It's easy for all of us to be hard on ourselves, and journaling is a wonderful way to document, recognize, feel proud of, and be grateful for spiritual growth I also like to write down bits of creativity and ideas!

Writing a journal also really helps develop creativity, ideas and release pent-up emotions that can't be poured out to others. It keeps your emotions and thoughts healthy and alive!

Go Phone-Free

Work emails, personal emails, text messages, short Instagram videos, Facebook, tiktok, random celebrity gossip, aka all the content from all the social media platforms... we're all on overload.

If you can't do it for a whole week, you can start by reducing your cell phone habit from 1 hour less than usual, then increase the intensity to a 2-hour to half-day cell phone fast every week. We need to detoxify our mind, body, ears, eyes from excessive content or information. This practice of being “present” even for just a short period of time is life-changing.

Workout… For Your Mind!

Some people are motivated to exercise because they feel better mentally. People who exercise regularly will feel more energetic, sleep better, have a sharper memory, and feel more relaxed and positive.

Exercise is beneficial for mental health because during exercise, the body releases neurotransmitters and hormones, such as serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins. Endorphins reduce pain and help increase feelings of euphoria.

According to Barbara Nosal, Ph.D., 30 minutes of exercise can increase the production of serotonin or a neurotransmitter associated with mood regulation, social behavior, sleep quality, appetite and memory. All the benefits gained by exercising will affect the balance of mind and body and is why exercise is so importance.

Life is often frantic and exhausting. Life can be very tiring and boring. Our minds are filled with conversations, bursts of information that we haven't even had time to process one by one, we are rushed by a list of other activities, so that our ability to be present is lost.

Being mindful means paying attention to what is happening in your mind, body, and immediate environment and remaining present. Trying to enjoy each moment may actually be good for your health.
